We'll it's the day of the Christmas market and mother nature has sent us a picture postcard Christmassy day!
Doors are still opening at 12 for any Christmas bargain hunters and there will be hot beverages ☕(and maybe even cake!🍰) available to counter the Christmas weather.
Please do take care on the way to the hall and we look forward to welcoming as many people as possible.

Doors are open, come on in everyone!
Don't forget tomorrow is our Christmas Market. Our Elves were busy decorating the hall last night in preparation and some of our lovely stall holders have already started posting pictures of their fantastic Christmas goods.
The doors open at 12 noon and will close at 4pm.
This is a great way to not only support the hall but also support lots of small local businesses and crafts people. Many of our local businesses have struggled over the last two years and a significant number haven't survived the lockdowns or the competition from online retailers. This is an opportunity to help them out at a really important time in the retail calendar.

This might be a great opportunity for any young people who are interested in theatre and the arts. It would also help too support an important local charity. We look forward to welcoming some new young friends tomorrow. As part of our mission to reach out to our community we are hoping to open regularly on Saturday mornings for people to drop in, chat, have a coffee and find out what we are all about. We will also be selling tickets when we get our new Box Office set up. See you tomorrow between 11.00 and 12.00? ... See MoreSee Less

It has come to the attention of the Village Hall Committee that there is a particular resident of the parish spreading rumours and lies about the hall and making defamatory statements about some of the committee members.
The Village Hall Committee would like to set the record straight and clear up any confusion this individual may have caused.
1.) The Village Hall is not going to be sold, it is owned by the Diocese of Carlisle and leased by the Committee to provide a community resource for Blencogo and the district.
2.) The Village Hall's Entertainment License has not been changed and is exactly the same as it has been for a number of years. Likewise, there are no plans to change it.
3.) Nobody is buying the Village Hall in order to turn it into houses. As stated above the building belongs to the Diocese of Carlisle and they have expressed no intention to sell.
4.) The Hall is doing well with all of our regular user groups back, using it most days of the week. We've had a number of parties since re-opening and have more booked into 2022. Yes, we still need people to support our regular fundraising events but the Hall is not in immediate danger of closure.
5.) The Village Hall Committee takes the Health and Safety of the people using the hall very seriously. We always strive to do everything reasonably practicable to deal with Health and safety issues within the areas under our control and comply with the relevant legislation.
6.) The Village Hall does not own the road directly in front of it, and has no jurisdiction over what happens on it. This is private land. Any concerns relating to this land should be directed to the Land owner.
7.) The Village Hall Committee has no intention to lay claim to the road in front of it.
This person seem to be intent on making up false claims in order to discredit the Committee and it's members, please do not be alarmed by them.
If you have any questions regarding the Hall and it's activities or concerns about issues with the Hall please contact us via firstname.lastname@example.org or DM us on here.

Keep up the great work blencogo community. Your postie Sal 👍👍👍
Blencogo village hall you should have a responsibility for children safe Garding regarding the children's play area and the building materials what was blocking the access to this area in my opinion also the disabled access on the front of the building vehicles should drive slowly to protect the disabled and children using this village hall you have the wrong attitude towards health and safety
Blencogo village hall should you be posting inflammatory comments like this really
The old committee would not of wrote things like this absolutely terrible must be new comers to the village with no respect.
Thank you to everyone who came down to the tabletop sale today and supported the hall.
